Jackie Ivey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the Clinical Director at Breakthroughs Counseling. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Jackie earned her Bachelor of Science from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
Jackie began her counseling career in intensive eating disorder treatment, where she developed a strong clinical foundation working with complex mental health conditions. After relocating to Florida in 2021, she expanded her scope of practice to addictions and substance use at Sophros Recovery. During her four years of working at Sophros, Jackie developed both leadership and clinical skills supporting individuals navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions within intensive levels of care.
Jackie is particularly passionate about helping individuals improve relationship dynamics, communication patterns, and interpersonal functioning, supporting people in recognizing the importance of relational health and its role on well-being. Her clinical approach is strength-based, client-centered, and holistic, integrating evidence-based modalities to support emotional regulation, behavioral insight, and sustainable personal growth. Jackie prioritizes individualized care that honors each client’s unique experiences, values, and goals while fostering meaningful andlasting change.
As Clinical Director at Breakthroughs Counseling, Jackie prioritizes building a safe, growth-oriented and
collaborative work environment with her team. She provides clinical leadership and oversight, assisting with
guiding clinical programming, supporting the professional development of clinicians, and maintaining a treatment environment grounded in compassionate care.
Outside of her professional role, Jackie enjoys spending time at the beach, listening to music, and traveling.
